"The student new Platinum Edition extends Escalade's position as a large SUV of choice among luxury consumers," said Jim Taylor, Cadillac general manager. "The growing Platinum series highlights the hand details and technical sophistication of Cadillac's overall renaissance of the product."

The advanced

Offered Escalade and the extended length Escalade ESV, the Platinum Edition includes a mix of technical innovations and aesthetic enhancements. Escalade Platinum is the first SUV will be equipped with Cadillac's advanced Magnetic Ride Control (MRC) technology.

Magnetic Ride Control, which was originally developed for performance vehicles such as the STS sedan, XLR Roadster and Chevrolet Corvette legend, is the global system of the suspension to react faster and gives the Escalade Platinum more precise control body movement. This is a real-time damping - "reading" of the road in one second intervals activists - that replaces conventional mechanical-valve shocks with electronically controlled shocks filled with synthetic fluid containing minute iron particles . In the presence of magnetic charge, the iron particles align to provide damping resistance almost instantly.

First segment, innovative LED headlamps

Escalade Platinum will be the first SUV - and one of the first vehicles of any kind - to offer Light Emitting Diode (LED) headlamps. Previously used in concept cars and exotic sports cars, LED headlamps mark another step in Cadillac's application of advanced lighting technology and design.

LED headlamps emit a light pattern by far more accurate, while emulating the characteristics of natural daylight much more closely than traditional auto lighting. LEDs are environmentally friendly, using much less energy and last 20 times longer than traditional halogen bulbs. LED headlamps will be an improvement added to the Escalade Platinum in the summer of 2011, shortly after the start of production of the Platinum model itself in the spring of 2011.

Fuel economy highway is expected in mid-'20s, but the test is not ready yet.

Performance and safety are reinforced by a provision of all-wheel drive (AWD) system that is designed to optimize vehicle handling and stability in all driving conditions. The AWD system incorporates an advanced electronic differential with limited slip (eLSD) that distributes torque as needed from side to side along the rear axle from the front to the rear axle. It preventive, active on-demand system provides an extra measure of ability in wet or icy conditions.

SRX 2011 leads a very wide track, which is designed to produce an agile, responsive driving experience. It can accommodate five passengers with generous cargo room, and can tow up to 3500 pounds (1587 kilograms).

Distinctive design and craftsmanship

"Cadillac is known for bold design. The SRX Crossover 2011 builds on that reputation," said Clay Dean, global design director for Cadillac. "As with the 2008 CTS, we have made our art and science of design to create a crossover to the style-conscious consumers. The exterior features a dramatic gesture of diving in the body part to give the feel movement, even at rest. "

Modular shield grille and Cadillac's iconic vertical headlights - a light tube technology, and adaptive lighting available - were in front of the Cadillac SRX. They wrapped the body are mixed overwhelming, which narrows down the back, when the car's sporty profile, Dean said.

The Cadillac SRX is equipped with a broad approach, minimal overhangs and wheels pushed to the corners. Eighteen-inch wheels are standard 20-inch wheels are available. A line of bold accent dives all over the side of the body and results in a front fender vent that incorporates a chrome side marker lamp. An integrated spoiler on the rear edge of the roof extends its clean lines and improves aerodynamics.

High-performance

The Cadillac SRX is powered by a new, fuel-efficient direct-injection V6 3.0 liter that delivers an estimated 260 hp (193 kW) and is mated to a six-speed automatic transmission. Direct injection allows more power, better fuel economy and emissions, which will offset a smaller package. As a result, the new V6 SRX is expected to increase by 5 bhp standard output, while achieving an estimated 10 percent-Q5-improved fuel economy.

3.0L V6 direct injection engine has a displacement smaller version of the 3.6L, direct-injection engine of the screen Cadillac CTS sport sedan, and was named one of the world's 10 best engines of 2010 Ward's Automotive. Along with direct injection technology, 3.0-liter engine uses variable valve timing to optimize power and fuel efficiency and reduce emissions.

Hydra-Matic 6T70 six-speed automatic transmission saves fuel by reducing engine rpm at a steady highway speeds, when the manual control lever allows better interaction between the driver, if desired. New Cadillac SRX includes a driver-selectable "Eco" mode, which changes the transmission shift points to maximize fuel economy.

"The 2011 SRX provide an excellent and well-balanced driving dynamics in all types of weather," said Bob Reuter, global vehicle chief engineer. "All-wheel drive with electronic traction control to transfer torque effectively, not only from front to back, but also along the rear axle. This system sets a new benchmark for all-wheel drive systems, that lets the driver control and safety in all road conditions. "

Traction is a step in the rear eLSD AWD models. In icy or wet conditions, the system can transfer up to 100 percent of torque to the wheels with more grip. The eLSD also gives the driver enhanced control when cornering or make a high speed maneuver, such as a lane change, by momentarily applying more or less torque to the wheels to help the rear of the vehicle more accurately the direction of the front wheels.

Includes real-time damping suspension with AWD that adjusts shock damping rates in response to road conditions as a smooth ride.

A city, this advanced hybrid power system enables Escalade to launch and drive low speeds on electricity alone. Like the extra power is needed, the system merges the battery output and gas engine smoothly.

GM's patented two-hybrid system consists of an advanced electrically variable transmission (EVT) and 300-volt nickel-metal hydride Energy Storage System (ESS). These systems work in concert with the standard 6.0L V-8 Gen IV gasoline engine with Active Fuel Management (AFM) and late intake valve closing (LIVC) technology. AFM enables the V-8 engine seamlessly cut half of its cylinders when less power is needed, and on the road. This new hybrid system not only enables the Escalade Hybrid to drive low speeds on electricity alone, but also allows 6 0.0 L V-8 to higher profitability of its four-cylinder mode for longer periods.

The system key Escalade 2-Mode Hybrid is the energy used to propel the vehicle is generated by the same hybrid system. When the brakes are applied or the vehicle inertia, the hybrid system's electric motors produce electricity that is stored in the 300-volt battery. This stored energy is used to move the vehicle and the regenerative braking cycle is renewed.

2-Mode Hybrid system provides seamless, dependable power on demand efficient package. In fact, its electric motor is less than half the size of single-mode hybrid systems. This technology was developed and is still used in fleets of hybrid transit buses on the streets today in dozens of major North American cities. Use a small full-size SUV, 2-Mode system delivers fuel savings where it is needed most - for large vehicles with a high degree of readiness. It is a fundamental part of GM's energy diversity efforts, which focus on reducing dependence on oil, fuel consumption, reduce emissions and reduce the environmental impact of the car.
